We may amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time, for instance to reflect changes in our system’s capabilities or how we accept payment from you. The Terms and Conditions in force at the time that you place an order will apply to the contract between us pertaining to that order. It is your responsibility to ensure you understand the Terms and Conditions in force whenever you order products from us.
General terms of purchase

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for ensuring that the details you provide us with are correct and complete. You can access and update your account details in the “My Account” area, which is accessible from the main menu.
Copyright and authors’ rights
All content included in documents (either physical or downloadable) made available through the Acumen Shop is the property of Acumen Business Services Ltd and/or the document’s author or publisher and is protected by copyright laws.
E-books and other downloadable products
Please note that e-books sold on the Acumen Shop are currently only supported on the Microsoft Windows® platform.
E-books and other downloadable documents may be protected from unauthorised copying and distribution by means of an Activation Key. Where this is the case (e.g. for PDF e-books) the product is provided as an executable (.exe) file made available to you in a downloadable ZIP file. You are responsible for ensuring that your security policies and settings allow you to download and run these file types on your computer.
The Activation Key allows access to the protected document from one computer at any one time. Instructions for activating and de-activating the document (e.g. on another computer) are provided when this type of document is purchased and can also be viewed on our Activating protected e-books page.
By making your purchase the copyright holder also grants you permission to print one hard copy of the e-book. Replication or distribution in any other format is prohibited.
Books and other physical products
We will normally dispatch your order within 4 to 5 working days of notification of payment. Actual delivery times will be dependent on the postal service in the UK and/or overseas. When ordering goods for delivery overseas you may be subject to import duties and taxes levied once the package reaches the specified destination for which we are not responsible.
If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with your purchase (books or other physical products) you may return the goods unopened or in an “as new” condition with a covering letter within 30 days. We will replace the goods or give a full refund.
All prices are inclusive of legally applicable VAT.
Personal information that you submit to us through this website will only be used for the purposes for which we solicit it, for example, to process an order or payment made by you, to respond to an enquiry, to obtain your feedback on our service and/or the product(s) purchased or to provide you with information about other goods and services we offer that are similar to those that you have already purchased or enquired about. Personal information will not otherwise be disclosed to a third party without your consent unless we should ever be legally required to do so.
We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any third parties.
Data transmitted between your browser and the Acumen Shop website server is protected with up to 256-bit Secure Sockets Layer encryption.
Visitors may post reviews on our product pages provided the content is not illegal, obscene, abusive, threatening, defamatory or otherwise objectionable. We reserve the right to remove or edit such content at our sole discretion. In posting a review, you grant Acumen non-exclusive, royalty-free rights to use, reproduce, modify, adapt or publish the content of said review, in part or in full, in our marketing literature, including the name that you submit in connection with such content, if we so choose.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the application of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is expressly excluded. By accepting these Terms and Conditions, you agree, as we do, to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.
